Background Recruitment (All Carer Roles)
While we aren’t actively looking to fill any gaps at present, we do welcome applications at any time. As we are a growing company, our roster is also growing so vacancies may arise more frequently. Full-Time positions are limited to cover our shift patterns, but for Bank there is no hard cap on numbers. If you are interested in working with us, please fill out an application and we will try to find a way to fit you in.
The ideal candidate for any of these positions would be someone who has a strong sense of empathy and good self-control. The job will include working with teenagers who struggle to manage their own emotions, but also day-to-day household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, ironing, etc.
We have very few requirements:
- Within 2 years of starting in the industry, anyone working in a children’s home must complete a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare if they haven’t already. This is a national requirement which we will help you to achieve
- Full-timers must be able to drive (and be at least 23 for the insurance). Our cars are mostly manual but we do now have automatics too. Driving is also preferred for bank staff but not necessary
- Decent literacy skills for writing up logs & documentation by hand
- Happy to sleep in one of the dedicated staff bedrooms overnight when required (for which a lump-sum is paid each time)

The two PDFs above show full details pertaining to these two role types – of which there are a few subdivisions:
- Bank is on a 2-tier system – those with the necessary Level 3 qualification and those without
- Shift-leader is the more senior of each day’s care team. They are also expected to be available as on-call backup on certain weekends when scheduled
- Full-timers work under their shift-leader on the same regular schedule to present a familiar and strongly functioning care force to our young people
- Floating full-timers are contracted on a full-time basis but are assigned shifts that would otherwise be left for bank to claim (3rd carer support, covering full-timer absence, etc). This includes fewer sleep-ins than other full-timers
If you are at all interested in helping these young people, please do get in touch with us. It’s a rewarding experience and we are happy to consider anyone.
